2017 Gabriel Acosta Memorial Journalism and Communications Workshop
The Journalism and Communications Workshop is designed for high school and community college students interested in multiple fields of communications. Participants will learn fundamental communications and critical thinking skills to prepare them for advance study or careers in the media. The workshop encourages involvement by providing knowledge and perspective on a variety of topics including: Photography/ videography, business and professional communication, editing, public speaking, journalism, media literacies, television, social media and radio news.
- Participants will learn fundamental communication and critical thinking skills in a one day workshop.
- Participants meet current media relation professionals in group discussion settings and workshops. The format includes a combination of presentations and hands on learning/scenarios.
- Experts share their insights and views and interact with participants during lively discussions.
- Provides participants with a disciplined understanding of issues in media and society. The program blends theory and professional training to prepare students for advanced study or careers in the media.
