SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside), Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee, obtained top scores on legislative scorecards recently released by the California Labor Federation (CLF) and by the California Small Business Association (CSBA).

The CLF awarded Medina 100% for his voting record on legislation protecting workers and their families. Likewise, the CSBA granted Medina a Summa Cum Laude for his support of their priority legislation and for providing district resources for small businesses.

“I am proud to earn top marks on both scorecards,” said Medina. “Supporting worker rights and small businesses isn’t inherently at odds. It takes small businesses and workers together to drive California’s economy. We can support them both well.”

The California Labor Federation defends the interests of over two million members in industries including retail, health care, manufacturing, and construction. The California Small Business Association advocates for the needs of small businesses at the state and federal level.

Assemblymember Medina proudly represents California’s 61st Assembly District, which consists of Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Perris.
