Strengthening Ties between Two Nations

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside) was appointed as the Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on California Mexico Bi-National Affairs by Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) today.

“I am honored to have Speaker Atkins appoint me to Chair this international Select Committee,” Medina said. “I have always had a keen interest in Latin America, both in my studies and with my personal background. I look forward to continuing to expand my passion for education across border lines. A strong relationship between Mexico and California is crucial to our economy, educational system, business partnerships and collective residents.”

Last year, Medina participated in a California delegation to Mexico with Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. Medina looks forward to exploring enhanced collaborative goals between Mexico and California.

Assemblymember Medina proudly represents California’s 61st Assembly District, which consists of Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Perris.
