Assemblymember Jose Medina Responds to the CSU Fee Increases
SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside), Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee, released the following statement after the California State University Board of Trustees voted 11-8 to increase student tuition:
“The California State Universities play a vital role in our state. Therefore, I was sorry to see the recent vote approving a tuition increase. I have worked in the past to expand financial aid programs and continue to do so. CSU campuses have gained national acclaim as an engine for social mobility. It is important that the Legislature and all segments of our Higher Education systems work together to make sure that this avenue to personal empowerment does not bear an insurmountable price tag.”
