“A strong teacher workforce is critical to the success of our students and to ensuring the long-term growth of California’s thriving economy. This joint hearing will be an opportunity for policymakers and leaders in higher education to better understand California’s shortage of credentialed teachers and the unique challenges facing rural communities. My hope is that this hearing will galvanize next steps to increasing the amount of well trained and qualified teachers throughout the state.”
