Assemblymember Medina Responds to Social Media Posts Disparaging Students

Friday, February 17, 2017

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside), a former teacher and school board member at Jurupa Unified School District, responds to the series of social media posts made by Rubidoux High School educators.

“As a former teacher, I value a positive and welcoming environment for all students.  Therefore, I am highly disappointed to learn of the comments made by several Rubidoux High School educators. The inappropriate rhetoric used to describe students is hurtful and divisive.

I commend the quick and timely reaction of Superintendent Duchon and his administration to meet with concerned students and maintain a positive learning environment for everyone.”
