California Assembly Recognizes World Refugee Day

(Sacramento)  – Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside) proudly voiced his support for World Refugee Day and urged the federal government to stop separating migrant parents from their children. "I am very thankful for the opportunity to speak on this resolution and to remind us that the United Nations has said that the practice of separating children for their parents is a human rights violation, and I could not sit here this morning without rising to speak against the practice," said Assemblymember Medina.  Watch his entire speech on House Resolution 91 in this Assembly Access  video.
