UC Audit Concerns Assemblymember Medina

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Jose Medina (D-Riverside), Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee, joined several other legislators for a capitol news conference to discuss the recent State Auditor’s report on the University of California. Assemblymember Medina said the audit shows the UC system is giving preferential treatment to out of state and international students, at the expense of California students. “I have long been concerned about the growing number of nonresident students, and what that growth means for access for California students,” said Assemblymember Medina. “The findings in this audit reinforce our concerns. It is unacceptable that highly-qualified California students are being turned away from UC.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
