(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Assemblymember Tina McKinnor (D - Inglewood) has named the Inglewood based The Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI) as the 2023 Nonprofit of the Year for their work to address food insecurity, develop youth leadership opportunities and address the state’s continued housing crisis.
California State Assembly Unites to Allow Legislative Staff to Join a Union
(SACRAMENTO, CA) – For the first time in state history, the California State Assembly has approved legislation by Assemblymember Tina McKinnor (D - Inglewood) and 42 bi-partisan co-authors to give non-supervisorial legislative employees the choice to join a union.

Disaster Preparedness Fair
Assemblymember McKinnor's office was joined by the American Red Cross, local fire department and community organizations for a FREE Disaster Preparation Fair. Constituents viewed exhibits displaying emergency supplies, emergency equipment and more.
Constituents learned how to create a disaster supply kit, how to develop a family emergency plan and what to do during different types of emergencies to help prepare for and respond to disasters.
